There are a lot of different types of plastic, and they have different melting points, but a lot of the common plastics will melt starting from 100 degrees Celsius (212 F).
If you’re using a clothes iron for your DIY, it can get well up to 200 degrees Celsius (390 F), so you can use that to melt recyclable plastics. Just put parchment paper in between your workplace and the plastic, and the clothes iron and the plastic, so the plastic doesn’t stick to your iron.
