what is a good affordable dry dog food it seems the older my dog gets the more sensitive to dry dog food he gets having a rough tme choosing one and its getting exspensive tryng different brands plz help my boy is miserable itching himself
Regarding affordability, it’ll depend on where you are. Options will vary depending on your region. But here are some things to consider in choosing the best food for your dog.
Your dog’s age and size. There are different dog food options specifically for puppies, adults, or senior dogs – the same goes for different sizes.
Activities and energy level. If your dog is active, then you should choose food that has more calories and/or fat content.
Grains. Dog foods can contain grains because they’re a good source of carbohydrates, but if you know your dog is allergic to grains, then any dog food that has it is not an option, of course.
Check if the dog food is certified by AAFCO. Association of American Food Control (AAFCO). They have great guidelines, and being certified by them means the product is trustworthy.
Check the first ingredient. It should be a protein source (chicken, turkey, beef, lamb). Grains are only fillers.

My dog is really picky with her dry food too.
What I do is mix her dry food with wet food and a bit of warm water. If I give her just dry food, she won’t eat it the whole day, even if it’s just there for her to eat. The warm water helps release the aroma of dog food, so it’s more attractive to them. Maybe try this method first with the dog food you have before changing again.
