Just a random thought, and I have zero knowledge about different cuts of meat so pardon me if this is supposed to be a piece of common knowledge. What part of the cow is brisket?

All cuts of brisket come from the breast area of the cow – the lower half of the chest just right above the front leg, to be more specific.
