Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet, and “Alpha wolves” are the pack leaders.
Omega, on the other hand, is the last letter of the Greek alphabet.
Just like the first letter represents the highest rank, the last letter represents the lowest rank.
“Omega wolf” can be a male or female wolf that is considered the lowest ranking member of the pack. They are usually the youngest in the pack.
They are observed to be the scapegoats, jesters, and stress-relievers – which means they instigate the play or be the receiver of aggression by other wolves.
They also eat last and live on the outskirts of the pack.
