I hit my toe on a corner of a table – we all know how that feels. I don’t actually know if it’s broken or just stubbed, but the worse it can be is broken (I think), and if it is, is that something serious? Should I take time off work for that?

If you’re already thinking that your injury might be serious, it’s best to get it checked. If it’s definitely not serious, you wouldn’t even doubt it. And, only a doctor can tell you for certain.
If you don’t get your injury checked right from the start, you may face more inconveniences in the future. You see, a broken toe may even require surgery because, depending on the injury, it can greatly affect your balance, strength, and walk.
Also, just use all your sick and vacation leave – they’re there to be used.
