    You can just replace the “update” with “inform” and its variations.

    You can also say:
    Thank you for letting me know.
    Thank you for the notification.

    Or if it’s a request, complaint, or other official reports, you can say:
    Thank you for bringing that to me.
    Thank you for bringing that to my attention.

    If it’s a piece of information about a plan, you can say:
    Thank you for the heads-up.
    Thank you for the warning.
