12:00 PM is noon.
12:00 AM is midnight.
You say PM is night, not really, PM is also afternoon.
You see, AM stands for the Latin ante meridiem, which translates to “before midday” – before the sun crosses the meridian line.
PM on the other hand stands for post meridiem or “after midday” which is after the sun has crossed the meridian line.
At noon, the sun is directly over the meridian so it’s neither AM nor PM because it’s not before or after, it’s exact.
To avoid confusion, you can use the 24-hour time format aka Military time. So noon is 12:00 and midnight is 00:00. You can also just use NN for noon and MN for midnight.
