Is there a sure-win pattern for tic tac toe? I feel like there should be – there’s only so much move you can make in the game.

The goal is to always secure two ways to win, and securing two corners is the best way to get that.
Center First Method (idk if it’s the name, I’m making this up lol)
If you’re the first to play, secure the center first. This gives you access to all the other corners and edges no matter where your opponent plays.
If they mark an edge, you’re most likely to win with no chance of tying.
If they mark a corner, you should place your next mark on the opposite corner of their mark, so you still have 2 ways of winning. If you make a mistake, your opponent can win.
Corner First Method
You can also start at the corner, but again, secure 2 corners immediately – preferably both on the same row, and never on the center. Doing this will force your opponent to counter-attack, ruining their turn and leaving you with 2 ways to win.
