A millennium is one thousand years. The word comes from the Latin word mille, meaning one thousand.
Millenium can also be referred to as kiloyear or kyr. Kyr is a former common word in some English language works. “k” for kilo- or thousand and “yr” for year.
Decade: Ten (10) years.
Century: One hundred (100) years.
Millennium: One thousand (1,000) years.
