I’m fixing a document, and the indentions are a mess for some reason. I feel like if I knew how many spaces are in a tab, then I could make something work. TIA.

Depends on the font size and your settings.
For me, in Microsoft Word, a Calibri (Body) Font Size 11 equals 14 spaces.
For Arial Font Size 12, it’s 12 spaces.
That’s by default which is 0.5 tab stops. Tab stops are basically what enable us to align text at a specific location in a document, such as an indent at the beginning of a paragraph.
You can adjust your tab stops in Microsoft Word by going to the Paragraph Settings at the Home Tab. It’s the little arrow at the lower right of the Paragraph Group.
Click the Tabs buttons at the lower left of the Paragraph Settings box and adjust the default tab stop as you like.
I set it to 2, and the Calibri (Body) Font Size 11 tab is now equal to 57 spaces, lol
So, experiment first to know what would work for you.
