I just randomly thought of this. Does salt have calories? I mean, we only put a little in our food but still – how many calories are in salt?

Zero! You won’t get any calories even in a cup of salt because our bodies can fully dissolve the salt. Basically, the amount of energy (calorie) it takes to process salt is more than the energy (calorie) that’s released by breaking salt (sodium and chloride) apart. You can even say negative calories, lol.
Salt can’t increase your weight directly, but it can make food tastier so you eat more or can make your body retain more water so you have more water weight.
