I’m new to drinking alcoholic drinks and am still in the casually tasting and trying stage – have never actually gotten drunk. I just want to learn to drink to be able to enjoy drinking with friends.
How long does drunk last?

There’s no one answer to this since the time you remain drunk can vary depending on so many factors.
The biggest factor is your drinking pace – how much you’ve drunk and how fast you drank them. Our bodies eliminate about 3 to 4 ounces of alcohol in an hour, but if you’re thinking more than that, then your body can’t keep up and will have to work even after you stopped drinking to regulate your blood alcohol concentration (BAC). The faster you drink, the higher the BAC, and the longer you stay drunk.
Other factors:
Your weight – the amount of blood in a bigger person can accommodate more alcohol than a smaller person, affecting the BAC.
Food intake – food can slow down the absorption of alcohol and lower your BAC because the faster alcohol is absorbed into your bloodstream, the higher the BAC becomes, and again, the higher the BAC, and the longer you stay drunk.
Other factors include your tolerance and health.
