I ran out of yellow paint, and I thought I’d try to mix it myself since I mix my colors a lot – but then I realized that I don’t know how to because yellow is a primary color. Can you even make yellow yourself? How?

For additive color mixing, the three primary colors are red, green, and blue. Yellow can be created when red and green lights mix in additive color mixing – but this doesn’t happen in physical substances, and paints are physical substances.
Mixing of colored physical substances corresponds to subtractive color mixing where the three primary colors are cyan, magenta, and yellow -and you just can’t create a primary color by mixing other colors.
