In a convo, my friend brushed over the subject of how people’s image perception of themselves is different from how others see them in a mirror (and in general lol, but I’m more interested in the mirror thing)
How different are they?

Your mirror image is more accurate in terms of lighting and texture, among others, because it’s captured by the human eye; but a photo can capture your image the way other people see it because the camera automatically flips the image back (reverse of what we see in the mirror)
So if you want to see how you look in other people’s eyes, just take a selfie.
The mirror reverses the image as it reflects it, so what you see in the mirror isn’t how others see you.
You can see how others see you through a non-reversing or flip mirror, which is just two mirrors connected and positioned at an exactly 90-degree angle. You’ll need to fix your position to where the mirrors meet and adjust until the image is not distorted. What you see in that corner is supposed to be how you look to others.
