Yes, you can be independent at age 16 but you need to consider your financial self-sufficiency.
Once you’re employed, this will inform you what you can and can’t afford. Don’t blow all of your money. To the best of your abilities, build up a reserve because life is unpredictable, especially when it comes to bills.
