Can a person take over the world? Or is it possible for a single person to govern the entire world?

It won’t be simple, but it is entirely possible. Let’s pretend that a totalitarian dictator has controlled the world. Let us refer to him or her as The Overlord.

So, how do dictators maintain their grip on power? They’ll need apprentices, and they’ll have to pay for them. The apprentice must believe they are needed and valued. They must sense the cash flowing in exchange for their unwavering commitment. They must have advantages that ordinary folks do not.

The Overlord must set up puppet systems in every country and region to keep his minions (army generals and local rulers) happy and prosperous. Because the people aren’t as valuable to The Overlord as the minions, greater taxes could be imposed on the masses for the sake of their happiness.

That’s how it’s done. The apprentices are generously provided for by the Overlord. Apprentices who wish to maintain their lifestyle will obey any order given by their lord and ensure that it is carried out appropriately.
