How to view protected tweets

Twitter is one of the biggest social media companies in the world with over 20 million subscribers. That signifies the value users are getting through twitter as a communication tool. Most users are using twitter for social communication though twitter has found its way in to business. People may use twitter for personal connection or post short messages and meme for the public to see. Even businesses are using twitter to connect with their customers.

Business can send protected offer tweets to their customers or pass any other privileged information through protected tweets.   For those using twitter privately they may not want their posts seen by the public but only for selected few. Twitter has given their users the option of choosing to make their tweets public or private. This is a great tool that enables them to make use it to separate private tweets from those seen by everyone.

You may want to separate your private life from the public one. Private tweets function will come in handy. You may want your work related tweets to be viewable by certain people and your social life viewable by other group. This is only achievable by making some tweets private so that they are viewable by a clique of people but not every Tom, Dick and Harry.

This is how you change your settings so that some tweets are private.

Log in to your Twitter account.

Enter the twitter handle name of the account you want to view the protected tweets.

From the list of the search click the account name.  A small padlock icon will be displayed beside users with protected account.

Hit or tap the “Follow” button in the user’s profile screen.

Now you will have to pray and wait for the twitter account owner to approve your request. After they approve twitter will notify you through an email that your request was granted.  When they allow you to see and receive their tweets, click on the users name in your “Following” list to view their tweets.
