I’ve been seeing Texas A&M Football articles on the internet and just wondered what the A and M stand for in Texas A&M University.
Texas A&M University was originally the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas. The school was renamed and “A&M” was kept as a symbolic link to the school’s history, but it doesn’t mean “Agricultural and Mechanical” anymore – in fact, the letters no longer explicitly stand for anything.
