Hard question. I hope you’re doing fine.
I believe that if you feel like he’s pretending, then he probably is.
But if we had to specify it, here are some things that I think mean he doesn’t really love you.
1. He doesn’t talk/ doesn’t want to talk about your future. Maybe he likes you but does not love you enough that he wants you in his future.
2. He says “sorry” but doesn’t change. He may seem like he listens to your opinion or frustrations and respect them for a short while and then do you wrong again, which means he doesn’t really care about making it right to you (which means he doesn’t love you)
3. Inconsistency. Maybe he’s only sweet with you when something is up? Someone who loves you won’t get tired of making you feel valued and would make an effort to make sure you know how much you’re loved. Inconsistency in his body language and what he’s saying is also a bad sign – he’s basically acting around you.
4. He keeps a tab of everything he does for you and asks for something in return. He might think doing something for you is not worth it,
5. You’re not his priority. He’d rather spend time, money, and energy on his friends or even a show or game than you – even when you don’t just want it actually need it (when you have problems or is sick). This just means he doesn’t care.
Talk to them about this. If he loves you, he’d care that you think this way and would work to fix it. If you feel like you’re not getting the queen treatment that you deserve, walk away, you deserve better.
