Hi Randy!
The Cuilcagh Boardwalk trail / Stairway to Heaven Ireland is one of the numerous walks on the long-distance Cuilcagh Waymarked Way — a 33-kilometer walking route that encompasses Cuilcagh Mountain and its environment.
How long does it take to climb the Stairway to Heaven?
People walk from Cuilcagh’s second car park to the boardwalk’s top. It will take between 2.5 and 3 hours if you follow the itinerary.
How many steps?
You’ll need to conquer 450 steps to reach the top of the Stairway to Heaven. This may appear to be a difficult task, but it isn’t. The steps are a bit of a drag, but they have good grip and you can pull yourself up using the rails if necessary.
When you reach the top
You’ll enjoy a magnificent perspective of the surrounding area when you reach the summit of Cuilcagh. Cuilcagh Mountain’s summit can be a bit of a letdown. Before descending the steps, many like to sit for a while and take in the scenery.
