This just randomly came up to me, and I can’t seem to remember even though I watched the movie. Who gave Harry the invisibility cloak?

Albus Dumbledore gave Harry the invisibility cloak as a Christmas present in “Harry Potter & The Sorcerer’s Stone.”
Dumbledore actually borrowed the invisibility cloak from James, Harry’s father, to examine if it was the cloak of the Deathly Hallows because James was a descendent of the youngest Peverell brother who was gifted the cloak of invisibility by Death himself. That’s why Dumbledore has the invisibility cloak. He returned it to Harry with the note, “Your father left this in my possession when he died. It is time it was returned to you. Use it well.”
