Someone on the internet called me, “My G” – and as much as I like to pretend that I can understand the young ones’ language, I can’t haha What did he mean by “My G”?
These days it means more like “My guy,” but it can also mean “My gangsta” (yes 😀 apparently, it also meant “Great Boss” to gang members.)
And since gangster and outlaw subculture was thought of as cool by some, they adopted the term.
Now, it’s a term that a close friend would call another close friend (mostly between teen males). It can also be said to someone you respect or admire.
So, you’ve probably been admired – and was called a gangsta.
