What does M and M chocolate stand for? I’ve been eating this chocolate my whole life and I still don’t know what does it stand for.

M and M stand for “Mars & Murrie.”
The idea for a hard-shelled sweet with chocolate in the center comes from Forrest Mars Sr. of the Mars candy company. He made a contract for the chocolate with Bruce Murrie, son of Hershey president William Murrie, in 1941 because he expected a chocolate shortage during the war.
