Found some people arguing about this in a comment section somewhere and it really intrigued me. I feel like the song has always ended with “we are the chaaaampiooons…of the wooorld!” (you know what I mean), but apparently, it doesn’t!

“We Are The Champions” By Queen – Does It End With “Of The World” Or Not?

Interesting question!
People believe this controversy is a big Mandela Effect moment.
Apparently, the song never really ended with “of the world” *on studio recordings.* It’ll be hard to find any recorded version with that ending, especially now.
The fact that the version of the song will vary depending on where you get the song complicates this even more. If from a CD, downloaded it from somewhere, and even if you listen to it on Spotify, your version will not end with “of the world”. However, if you’re listening from vinyl, then you may get the full ending, depending on where you bought it.
For the live performances, too, we see Freddie Mercury singing the “of the world” ending – and people liked and followed that, for years. And, that leads to people believing the song ended that way even though it never did on the recordings – again, big Mandela Effect moment.
People are still confused until now – even lyric sites can’t unite if they should post with or without “of the world” ending.
