For the UK, manslaughter is categorized into two groups:
voluntary manslaughter – intentional
involuntary manslaughter – unintentional
Depending on the judge’s judgment, the penalty may be just a fine (mostly for corporate manslaughter) or life imprisonment.
So, there’s no set answer rule. The sentence may even be reduced by up to one third if the offender pleads guilty (the earlier, the better)

In the US, the law differs per state, so the punishment for murder and manslaughter could be any term of years or life imprisonment without or without parole, depending on the degree of the offense.
