My wife bought a glass container from a random garage sale. We don’t have the packaging so were not sure if we can use it in the oven, it looks like something you use in an oven. Can glass go in the oven?

Depends on the glass. You can put tempered glass in the oven, while non-tempered glass should never be placed in an oven.
You can check the bottom of the glass container to see if there is a sign or symbol that they’re oven safe.

Though, since it’s a secondhand item, even if it has an oven-safe symbol, you should check for any cracks before putting it in your oven because no matter how small a crack it is, it can cause the glass to shatter under extreme heat (also cold)
