500 internal server youtube error is not common but once in a while, you may encounter it. It may appear once in a while when you click a YouTube video. It means that the problem is not on your end but on the other end of the Youtube server.

The error means that something is wrong on the server-side, however, the server doesn’t know exactly what is wrong.

Whenever it appears it’s not something really big and will disappear in a moment. YouTube will fix it, on your side you can do nothing about it.

This server may appear because the servers may be down something unusual, or it may be that YouTube is experiencing a hacking attack.

The error is rarely on the client-side but to be sure you need to do the following checks.

  1. Make sure you are using Google Chrome as your browser.
  2. Refresh the page to see if the error is still showing.
  3. Refresh the page by hitting F5 on your keyboard.
  4. Try to restart your router when you cannot connect to the internet.
  5. If you are using a chrome browser try deleting browser cookies and also clear browser cache.
  6. You can also restart your computer if the problem persists.
  7. Contact Youtube if the error persists for more than a day or go to forums and post the problem from there.
